How do I Configure Microsoft SQL Server for Windows Defender Firewall?
This article assumes you have a Microsoft SQL Server instance installed and running.Â

Type Windows Defender Firewall with Advanced Security into your Windows Search Bar
Right click on Inbound Rules and select New Rule
Setup the Local TCP Port
Select Port
Click Next
Select TCP
Enter 1433 for the Specific local ports
Click Next
Allow the connection
Click Next
Select Domain
Select Private
Select Public
Click Next
Name the Inbound Firewall Rule
Name: EZ Arms Keeper TCP
Click Finish
Now setup the Local UDP Port - This is needed for the SQL Browser Service to function properly
Right click on Inbound Rules and select New Rule
Setup the Local UDP Port
Select Port
Click Next
Select UDP
Enter 1434 for the Specific local ports
Click Next
Allow the connection
Click Next
Select Domain
Select Private
Select Public
Click Next
Name the Inbound Firewall Rule
Name: EZ Arms Keeper UDP
Click Finish
Your Microsoft SQL Server is now configured to allow inbound connections from EZ Arms Keeper
